Hiking Crossover between GEO and RTHK Radio 1 "Climate Watcher" Programme

25/05/2019

The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) jointly organised a hiking event with the RTHK Radio 1 "Climate Watcher" Programme on 25 May 2019.  The event was overwhelmingly received by over 50 members of the public, with the hiking route along Bowen Road Fitness Trail starting at Bowen Road Garden and ending at Stubbs Road.  The geotechnical engineers provided a guided tour along Bowen Road at which some past natural terrain landslide happened and various Government landslide mitigation measures are located.  We explained the landslide risk in Hong Kong and took this opportunity to promote landslide self-help tips during heavy rains and how to respond positively to our Landslip Warning messages.
