CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd
Daman is a civil engineer and spent his early years on geotechnical design and construction works such as piling in Yuen Long, deep basements near sensitive structures and tunnelling in difficult ground conditions. He then manages a few infrastructure projects before getting involved in several planning and engineering studies that had a main theme on increasing land supply in Hong Kong. These include the planning and preliminary design for the Tung Chung extensions that lead to the Tung Chung East and West development projects, the compiling of the master plan for cavern development and the site selections and public engagement for possible reclamations in HK. After 23 fascinating years with Arup, he joined the Airport Authority and worked on the new reclamation for the Third Runway System. He is currently with CLP leading a team on the development of an offshore LNG receiving terminal, which is a joint project for the two power companies, with an aim to further reduce the use of coal and improve the territories' air quality.
